Garlic Holder “'600 Red Background”
Inspired by 17th-century Deruta pattern books, this garlic holder is painted with fine white scrollwork over a deep, saturated red ground, a striking contrast to the more common white-background majolica. Recreating the pattern takes a practiced hand, since the design has to be laid over solid color rather than bare ceramic. It makes a bold statement piece, especially in a kitchen with warm wood tones or terracotta floors.
