A New Logo for MOD: A New Symbol for a Story That Began in Deruta in 1965

Published by Mod Ceramics on Sep 18th 2026

We are proud to unveil the new MOD logo, a renewed identity that reflects who we are, where we come from, and the values that have guided our company for more than 60 years.

Since 1965, MOD has been creating authentic handmade ceramics in Deruta, Italy, combining craftsmanship, passion and a deep respect for one of Italy’s most renowned ceramic traditions.

Our collections tell this story through different styles: from traditional Deruta designs, deeply rooted in the local artistic heritage, to timeless classic collections and contemporary creations designed for modern interiors.

The Symbol of Deruta at the Heart of Our New Logo

At the heart of the new MOD identity is an element with a very special meaning: the historic symbol of Deruta itself.

Inside the letter “O” of MOD, just like our previous logo, we have incorporated the distinctive crenellated tower topped by a rue plant (in Italian: “ruta”, which brings to mind the very name of the city) growing from the ground — a symbol intrinsically connected with Deruta and its identity.

This detail transforms the “O” into much more than a letter. It becomes a visual connection between MOD and Deruta, the place where our ceramics are created and where our story began.

The tower and the rue plant celebrate our origins while the clean, contemporary design of the new logo represents our desire to carry that heritage forward.

In this way, the new MOD logo brings together tradition and modernity — the same two elements that have always inspired our ceramic collections.

Handmade in Deruta Since 1965

For generations, the passion for ceramic craftsmanship has been passed down through our company, preserving the skills, knowledge and attention to detail behind authentic Deruta maiolica.

Every MOD creation is part of this continuing story: ceramics made by hand, where craftsmanship and artistic decoration give each piece its own character.

Today, MOD ceramics reach customers all over the world — from Japan to the United States, through Scandinavia and across Europe — bringing the colors and artistic heritage of Deruta far beyond Italy.

And wherever you are, we ship worldwide. ?

A New Identity, the Same Passion

Our logo has changed, but what defines MOD remains the same: our passion for craftsmanship, our connection with Deruta and our commitment to creating authentic Italian ceramics.

A new logo. A symbol of Deruta at its heart.
The same craftsmanship. The same passion. Since 1965. ??
