An exclusive MOD Ceramics collection

The "Capri" Collection —
citrus on a Mediterranean blue

Hand-painted in Deruta   ·   Inspired by the island of Capri
Food-safe   ·   Built to last

"Oranges and lemons on a deep blue —
the sky and sea of our beautiful island."

One year after opening online sales of our newest collection of handcrafted ceramics, we can confidently report that the response has been extraordinary. The Capri line — until then reserved only for retailers — has become one of the most beloved patterns in our catalogue. Here is the story behind it.

Chapter One

The Inspiration Behind Capri

The pieces in this collection are hand-painted by skilled artisans, using bright and vibrant colors to create a design that represents the beauty of nature: citrus. The collection features a deep blue background, reminiscent of the sky and sea of our beautiful island. In the center, colorful citrus fruits — oranges and lemons — represent the freshness and vitality of our magnificent land, Italy.

Each handmade pottery piece is a unique work of art, created with care and attention to detail. Every painting is executed using traditional techniques by our artisans — the same methods that have defined Deruta majolica for five centuries.

A note on color

In the two pictures you can see the difference and the change of colors that occurs during the firing process at about 1,000 °C, which every Deruta majolica piece undergoes. On the left: the finished product, ready for sale. On the right: the piece freshly painted by our painters, before firing.

Each piece is unique. Each design, slightly different. This means you are not setting a table — you are composing one.

Chapter Two

Handcrafted to Last Generations

The handcrafted ceramics in this collection are made to last. They are crafted from high-quality materials, with durable, food-contact-safe colors and glazes that provide long-lasting use in everyday life.

Your feedback has been consistently positive, whether these pieces are chosen for elegant dinners or for quiet family breakfasts. Capri fits both moments — and everything in between.

Chapter Three

Shapes and Pieces Available

The "Capri" Majolica collection is available in a variety of shapes and sizes:

  • Plates — from dinner plates to small dessert plates
  • Bowls — for pasta, soup, or centerpieces
  • Cups — for espresso, coffee, and tea
  • Teapots — the signature statement piece of the line

Every piece is unique and features a slightly different design, which means you can compose an exclusive table setting that no one else will own.
