Italian Pasta Bowls, Hand Painted in Deruta

Our pasta bowls are the classic Italian piatto fondo: a wide, shallow bowl with a rim, 9.8 in (25 cm) across and 1.6 in (4 cm) deep. It is the shape Italians use every day for pasta, risotto and soup, and it works just as well for salads and grain bowls.

Every piece is shaped and painted by hand in Italian majolica in our workshop in Deruta, Umbria, where MOD Ceramics has been making pottery since 1965. Choose among more than forty patterns, from Renaissance classics such as Raffaellesco and Ricco Deruta to the Galletto rooster, the blue and white Arabesco and our own designs.

Each pasta bowl comes with a scalloped edge or a smooth edge at the same price. All are made in Italy, food safe and lead free, and go in the dishwasher and the microwave. Pair them with the matching Italian dinner plates in the same pattern to build your own Deruta dinnerware set.
